Ambassadors for Christ Terminology Generally speaking, an ambassador is a representative of a nation, sent to a foreign land. In other words, Ambassador is a diplomatic official, heading his or her country's mission to certain international organizations. An ambassador is a diplomatic agent of the high command, he is a subject of a foreign land and he exemplifies the honor of his home country. The ambassador’s role is to reflect the official position of the sovereign body that gave him authority. Biblical Exposition 2 Corinthians 5:20 says “ We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” In this verse, the Apostle Paul describes a Christian’s duty as an ambassador of Christ. Paul’s comment is not imperative, but declarative.
